Ice rink accessories

Do you want to create a seasonal or one-off attraction? Whether for leisure purposes or professional sports - our mobile and semi-mobile ice rinks give you maximum flexibility, high energy efficiency and low maintenance costs.

The mobile systems are designed down to the last detail so that they can be dismantled and stored at the end of operation. With semi-mobile solutions, the ice mats are rolled up after use and stored in a shaft, allowing the space to be used for other sports in summer.

Multifunctional ice rinks are used where year-round multiple use of a sports field is desired.

Whether for the renovation of existing sports facilities or the construction of new ones,  AST provides a very extensive and resource-saving catalogue of services in which, in addition to the focus on multifunctionality, a great deal of attention is also paid to energy efficiency.

AST installs its EPDM absorber membranes under almost every sports surface (sports turf, artificial turf, etc.). During the summer months, these cool the playground, which is heated by direct sunlight, or make it playable in the first place, utilising the waste heat from the connected refrigeration machine via heat exchangers to heat the service water. During the cold season, the same sports surface becomes an energy-saving ice rink with the optional integrated EasyCHILL energy management system, as water sprayed onto the cooled surface with the EPDM ice mats underneath freezes to form a layer of ice. The waste heat from the chiller is used to heat the service water, as in summer mode.

Quarzphalt ice rinks are characterised by excellent cold conductivity and are particularly energy-saving. At the same time, they are extremely stable and durable and guarantee the best ice quality. Overall, they offer the best price-performance ratio.

Designed for permanent indoor and outdoor use, the cooling pipes are cast in asphalt or concrete depending on the application and environmental influences. The innovative and patented AST IcePhalt® system is characterised by particularly elastic material properties that can withstand high temperature fluctuations. In winter, the ice surface serves as a perfect skating rink, while in summer it can be converted into a sports surface or a solar installation

The AST IcePhalt® ice rink is based on a sophisticated and uncomplicated construction process, which significantly shortens the construction time and reduces costs.

Concrete is a traditional and proven base for permanent ice rinks. We manufacture concrete cold slabs that are suitable for all ice sports. This involves installing refrigeration pipework and preparing the structure for the concrete pour before bringing it to the project site. In co-operation with local construction companies, we provide on-site construction management to ensure that our high quality standards are met.

We have put a lot of attention into the development work. All materials used are free from harmful substances. The UV-resistant HDPE panels are manufactured using powder melting and compacted under very high pressure.

The patented connection technology, in which the tongue and groove panels are inserted into each other, optimally compensates for expansion in the event of temperature fluctuations. This system also enables rapid assembly and dismantling.

Synthetic ice rinks are in no way inferior to conventional ice rinks and other materials, as there are no limits in terms of size, shape and equipment.
