Top leaders from China and Russia dropped puck on temporary mobile AST ice rink in Tianjin China
Not soon after the 2018 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships in May Denmark, AST’s ice making technology is tested again. Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin watched a friendly Sino-Russian youth ice hockey game in Tianjin Gymnasium on Friday, June 8th, 2018. The game participated by the young generations from both countries, has significantly demonstrated China’s determinations for a prosperous ice hockey future and a splendid 2022 Winter Olympics.
Joined by 7,000 spectators, President Xi and President Putin dropped the puck for the game after exchanging team uniforms and taking group photos with the players. They watched the full first period of the game before leaving for a welcoming banquet. The game was tied 4-4.
With all the attention to Tianjin, AST China successfully transformed the concreate stadium into an ice rink in only 5 days. AST China supplied the refrigeration chillers,ice mats,dash board and full automation system,etc. During the game, AST China also stood by for ice resurfacing and other required maintenance services.
The inspiring game is in response to President Xi’s initiative to bringing 300 million people in winter sports. Cheered by the two top leaders, China’s winter sports will see a boom in the near future. The ice rink was transformed into a standard figure skating rink in only 5 hours with lighting shows after the Sino-Russian youth ice hockey games to present all the important officials from China’s winter sports management center, Tianjin government, famous skaters from China and the world a figure skating feast to kick off the event “Welcoming Winter Olympics, Joining Ice & Snow Activities”.
