Ice rinks from the market leader
Whether setting up ice rinks for Christmas markets, preparing for an ice skating event, or equipping an entire ice arena, AST ice rinks have been the top choice and the most popular product for 30 years. With systematic improvements and customer-oriented refinements, we now offer ice rink solutions to satisfy every need in terms of flexibility and adaptability.
There are AST ice rinks in more than 40 countries worldwide! Moscow is home to the two largest ice rinks in the world, both equipped by AST. In Gorky Park, an extraordinary ice theme park occupies more than 18,000 m², and with an area of just under 21,000 m² the largest skating rink in the world is in the VDNKh exhibition centre.
AST offers solutions for every situation. For example, ice rinks have been installed for Royal Caribbean Cruiselines on the newest and largest cruise ships in the world. The famed Holiday on Ice show is put on several times a week there.
AST ice rink systems are also unrivalled in terms of versatility. For example, dual use ice rinks can be installed. These have an asphalt or artificial turf surface that can be used as parking space or a playing surface for various ball sports during the summer season.
With its fully developed, flexible systems, AST can also satisfy the most unusual customer wishes. AST systems function economically in terms of cost and energy, so the ice rinks also have tremendous financial potential!
Technical advantages of AST products:
- Ice technology
All components of an AST ice rink - whatever the model - have been developed especially for ice operation by AST engineers. The materials below the ice surface vary depending on the application, but all are of the highest quality and designed to work perfectly with each other. This is why AST is able to offer top-class ice rink solutions that meet the highest quality standards!
- Refrigeration technology
AST uses state-of-the-art cooling units and works closely with the leading manufacturers of refrigeration equipment. The machines are equipped with piston or screw-type compressors and cooled with air or water depending on requirements, and they are also available in split or container designs. AST cooling units are controlled electronically and respond quickly to changes on the ice.
The new, ultramodern, all-season "Ice Sport Arena" was opened in Telfs/Tyrol in May 2015, and AST supplied the ice equipment. The hall was constructed as an indoor skating rink and intended for use as a training venue for ice athletes. The operator has already been pleased to receive international booking enquiries for figure skating and ice hockey events. The high quality of AST products has excited considerable interest in Sweden, Russia and elsewhere.
AST was a partner the first time the event was held, in 2001 ! When the blades flash again in St. Paul/Minnesota on 22-24 January 2015, the AST engineers and technical fitters will have done their jobs perfectly again. AST has been involved with this extreme sport ever since it is invented, and since then the equipment used has seen considerable advances.
Following many innovations and substantial investment, and the timely completion of all works, AST was appointed a Red Bull Crashed Ice partner and now accompanies the tour all over the world, preparing the daring ice tracks for the fastest sport on blades.
