World Premiere in Innsbruck

From April 10 to 12, 2026, Innsbruck became the stage for a true world premiere in ice hockey:
The Ultimate Hockey - Breaking the Ice Tour introduced a completely new game concept to the ice for the very first time, and we at AST were involved from the very beginning.

 

New Sport, New Challenges

This international event featured an innovative format:

- 3-on-3 ice hockey

- Teams from six nations

- A total of 17 games

- Outdoor competition under open skies

 

The combination of an outdoor setting and spring-like temperatures created a particularly demanding challenge - one that we successfully mastered.

 

Reliable Ice Quality Despite Sunshine and Temperatures Above 20°C

For us, this project represented an especially complex task.
The entire ice surface was built outdoors without any shading - despite daytime temperatures exceeding 20°C.

 

Thanks to advanced technology, precise planning and our experienced team, we were still able to guarantee consistently optimal ice quality throughout the entire event.

 

Once again, we demonstrated that powerful ice technology and professional execution can deliver outstanding results even under extreme conditions.

 

Comprehensive Execution by Our Team

As the official partner and equipment supplier, we were responsible for the complete on-site implementation:

- Planning and construction of the entire ice surface

- Installation of boards, goals and rink markings

- Provision of modern ice resurfacing machines

- Continuous supervision and maintenance of the ice surface throughout the event

 

This ensured that all games could take place under consistently professional conditions at all times.
