Geschichte

1986

The company AST, focusing on solar absorber systems, is founded.

1991

The first AST ice rink based on absorber technology is built in Tyrol.

Foundation of AST Eissport- und Solaranlagenbau GmbH in Füssen, Germany, and AST Eissport- und Solaranlagenbau AG in Flawil, Switzerland.

1992

Ing. Bernd Lechner developed the AST ice box as an important prerequisite for mobile ice rinks.

1993

The rental of ice rinks starts.

1997

The Reutte electricity works take over AST.

1998

AST production is moved from Telfs to Reutte.

AST supplies the first mobile ice hockey rink for an A World Championship.

AST also receives the order to build ice rinks on the new passenger ships of the shipping company Royal Caribbean Cruises.

2002

The company has experienced a significant increase in productivity. A total of 21 solar absorber systems, 5 stationary ice rinks and 120 rental ice rinks have been successfully delivered and installed.

2004

AST is equipping the World Figure Skating Championships in Dortmund.

AST is supplying the ice surface for "Enjoy the Stars", a gala by and with Katarina Witt.

A 2000 m² solar absorber system is being built in Uruguay/South America.

2005

AST Refrigeration and Solar Technology Co.Ltd. is founded in Beijing.

In addition, boards and ice maintenance machines are supplied for the Ice Hockey A World Championships in Innsbruck and Vienna.

2006

AST is the ice technology supplier for the European Figure Skating Championships in Lyon.

2007

AST receives a major order from Russia to supply more than 70 ice hockey rinks.

2010

AST was commissioned to provide all the ice technology for the opening game of the Ice Hockey World Championship in the Veltins Arena in Schalke. A new world record was set with 77,803 spectators.

2011

AST is building the world's largest mobile ice rink in Moscow's Gorky Park, where ice skaters will have over 15,000 m² of ice at their disposal.

2012

In an article, the Kurier lists the ten most beautiful ice rinks in the world. Seven of them were built by AST.

2013

AST is the outfitter of the European Figure Skating Championships in Budapest and the DEL Winter Games in Nuremberg.

2014

AST is the ice technology supplier for the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final 2014-2015 in Barcelona.

2015

AST Buz Sporlari ve Günes Enerji Sis. Ltd. Sti. (Ankara/Türkiye) is founded.

2016

AST is building Europe’s highest ice hockey rink on the summit of the Zugspitze.

2017

AST takes over the representation of the traditional ice resurfacing machine company Zamboni for the Austrian market.

2018

AST is moving from Reutte to Höfen and opening its new headquarters there.

At the IIHF Ice Hockey A World Championship in Denmark, AST is the full supplier of the two venues in Herning and Copenhagen.

2019

Our online shop www.ast-shop.net is opened.

2020

AST is the complete supplier of the DEL Wintergame 2020 in the Rudolf Harbig Stadium in Dresden, Germany.

The ISU European Figure Skating Championships in Graz, Austria will be fully equipped.

The long-distance ice rink will be equipped for the IFI Ice Stock World Championships 2020 in Regen, Germany.

2021

AST is implementing the comprehensive "Steppe Arena" ice rink project in Ulan Bator, Mongolia - a project that has proven to be the most challenging project in AST's history to date due to the corona pandemic and the associated travel restrictions.

To optimize energy costs for its rental ice rink customers, AST is developing the "EasyCHILL" app, a digital ice rink manager

With the AST TechTalks 2021, the company is offering its international partner network a series of exciting specialist lectures and presenting its latest product innovations.

2022

AST signs a long-term cooperation agreement with the Austrian Ice Hockey Association and takes over the complete equipment for the two major events "DEL Wintergame 2022" in Cologne and "Eishockey Open Air 2022" in Hanover.

Together with our French partner Synerglace, AST is supplying the ice rinks for the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2022 in Montpellier, France.

2023

AST starts the new year with top marks with the "Winter Classic" stadium event in Bratislava.

AST develops the EasyCHILL energy management system for its mobile rental ice rinks, which can reduce the running time of the chiller by up to 60%.

2024

AST is equipping the IIHF B World Championship Div. 1 in Vilnius LIT with its energy-reducing AST ProSport Dynamic board system including cooling technology.
