History

  • 1986 The company AST is founded. Core products at the time were solar absorber systems.
  • 1991 The first AST ice rink based on absorber technology is installed in the Tyrol. AST Eissport- u. Solaranlagenbau GmbH (Füssen / Germany) and AST Eissport- u. Solaranlagenbau AG (Herisau / Switzerland) are founded.
  • 1992 Ing. Bernd Lechner develops the AST Ice Box.
  • 1993 AST ice rinks are rented for the first time.
  • 1997 AST is acquired by the electric generation company Elektrizitätswerke Reutte.
  • 1998 Production facility is moved from Telfs to Reutte. AST delivers the first ever mobile ice rink for the Group A Ice Hockey World Championships. AST receives the order to build ice rinks on new passenger ships for the Royal Caribbean Cruiselines shipping company.
  • 2002 Productivity has risen enormously. 21 solar absorber units, 5 permanently installed ice rinks and 120 rental rinks are delivered and installed.
  • 2004 Equips the venue for the World Figure Skating Championships in Dortmund. "Enjoy the Stars" by and with Katarina Witt. AST delivers and installs a 2000 m² solar absorber plant in Uruguay/South America.
  • 2005 AST Refrigeration and Solar Technology Co. Ltd is founded in Beijing, China. AST supplies the boards and ice resurfacing machines for the Group A Ice Hockey World Championships in Innsbruck and Vienna, Austria.
  • 2006 AST is appointed ice equipment supplier for the European Figure Skating Championships in Lyon, France.
  • 2007 AST receives the order to deliver more than 70 ice hockey rinks to Russia.
  • 2010 AST receives the order to supply all ice technology equipment for the opening match in the Ice Hockey World Championship in Schalke, Germany. The match is watched by 77803 spectators, a world record.
  • 2011 AST builds the largest mobile ice rink in the world, in Gorky Park, Moscow, Russia. The rink provides more than 15,000 m² for skaters.
  • 2012 Seven of the 10 most beautiful ice rinks in the world are made by AST.
  • 2013 European Figure Skating Championships in Budapest, Hungary. The first DEL Winter Game (German Ice Hockey League) in Nuremberg, Germany.
  • 2014 AST is ice technology supplier for the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final 2014-2015 in Barcelona, Spain.
  • 2015 AST Buz Sporları ve Güneş Enerji Sistemleri Ltd. Şti founded in Ankara/Turkey.
